Q:

How would you describe LIFT's teaching style?

A:

We are a homeschool schoolhouse with multiple ages. We teach individually for leveled subjects like math and phonics and combine by age for enrichment and electives. Lessons include a combination of visual, hands-on lessons and regular practice to cement concepts and memorize facts. We attempt to keep our environment relaxed and fun with snack breaks and outdoor time strategically scheduled to break up concentration and sitting time. We encourage critical thinking, sense of community, collaborative projects, and personal progress.

How would you describe LIFT's setting?

A:

We have a homeschool family setting.  We meet in a home and use the kitchen, living room, dining room, and backyard for lessons and meals.  We have regular outdoor time at the nearby greenbelt and playground. We also have a cat and a dog that regularly interact with students that enjoy animals.
