MATH
Elementary Math Description
Beginners/Basics
Level B :

addition and subtraction facts to 18, place value to the thousands,

geometry,

measurement,

time,

money, and

basic fractions.

4digit addition and 2digit mental addition is also incorporated.

Problem solving and place value are emphasized throughout.
Level C

continue to build on known addition and subtraction facts

4digit addition and subtraction

2digit mental calculations

introduces multiplication and fractions

Other topics include area and perimeter, measurement, money, time, and basic fractions.

Begin working with drawing tools to explore geometric designs.

Problem solving is emphasized.
Intermediate
Level D

Build on the meaning and properties of multiplication and division, along with the basic facts

multiplying a 4digit number by a 1digit number

rounding

numbers to millions

area and measurement in both the US customary and metric systems

fractions

graphing

continue work with geometry and angles using drawing tools.

Problem solving with all four operations is emphasized.

Daily card games are included in the lessons.
Elementary / Intermediate Homework also includes card games for practice and to cement skills.
Our foundational program for math is Right Start. Right Start uses a combination of visual and handson methods which result in excellent retention and understanding.
In addition we may use Mathtacular, Schoolhouse Rock, Math It, etc in our Math Centers.
Singapore, Beast Academy, or Mathematical Reasoning is provided for students that benefit from workbook pages, story approach, or repetition.
Students spend time each Tuesday and Thursday in our Math Centers in which they participate in math activities that provide the repetition necessary to cement their math knowledge and skills over time.
Middle School Math Description
Middle School Math, levels E PreAlgebra is where we solidify a students knowledge of arithmetic, vocabulary, the four operations, decimals, fractions, percents, geometry, prealgebra, and practical skills. Our handson, visual curriculum provides opportunities for students to use the math skills and knowledge they have attained for a true mastery of concepts.
Level E

multiplication of multidigit numbers by twodigits,

division of multidigits by a single digit

equivalent and mixed number fractions

prime numbers

factors

decimals to the hundredths

percents.

Algebraic concepts are introduced and problem solving is emphasized throughout.

In geometry they study classification of triangles and polygons, symmetry, reflections, angle measurement, and work with 3dimensional figures.

Measurement, elapsed time, distance, money and capacity problems are explored.
Level F

addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions and mixed fractions, with both like and unlike denominators.

square and cubic numbers, along with exponents, percentages and decimals.

Short and long division are covered including working with remainders.

Area and volume of geometric figures are addressed, along with converting units of measurement.

Probability and coordinate systems are also introduced.
Level G
Learn mathematics handson and visually through geometry. Topics include:

triangles,

area,

volume,

ratios,

Pythagorean theorem, and

tiling,

and so forth, while practicing arithmetic, fractions, and decimals.

Level H: PreAlgebra
Continue to learn middle school mathematics handson and visually using a geometric approach. Using a drawing board, Tsquare, triangles, compass, and goniometer, the student continues to work with fractions and decimals while investigating volume, tessellations, fractals, ratios, angles, and other geometry concepts.
Trigonometry is introduced along with platonic solids, 3dimensional figures, surface area, patterning, and plane symmetry. Connections between various aspects and branches of mathematics are explored. Prealgebraic concepts are included. The history of mathematics is woven throughout the lessons.
High School Math
We have a Math Lab in which students are individually assessed and placed and able to work at their own pace. Our Math Lab Supervisor is a skilled tutor that provides help with their lessons as well as accountability, scheduling, or encouragement.
Choices for curriculum range from online to print, depending on student preference and learning style. We have experience with many math backgrounds and can support whichever style your student uses.
